Court acquits Attaullah Tarar in Alipur Chattha attack case

LAHORE: A court in Wazirabad has acquitted PML-N leader Attaullah Tarar and his companions honorably in the Alipur Chattha attack case.

The case was decided by the court of Civil Judge Muhammad Asif on Saturday.

A case was registered against Atta Tarar and his accomplices at the behest of former federal ministers Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad and Fawad Chaudhry.

Speaking to the media, Tarar said that he who wanted to keep him in jail for three years, he himself is behind bars today. He said that he has been facing a court trial since 2021.

He said lodging a police station attack case against him was a conspiracy to suppress his voice.

On possible poll alliances, the PML-N leader said that talking about alliances with other parties in the election is premature, the decision has to be taken by the leadership.

He said that PML-N leadership is going to Balochistan for consultation, adding that the election situation would be clear after November 30.

“It seems that elections are going to be held on February 8,” Tarar enunciated.
