Democratic government should complete its tenure: Maryam Nawaz

F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: Maryam Nawaz, Daughter of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’, has said democratic government should complete its tenure, no matter how weak it is but this is the only way of strengthening the democracy in the country.

She said this while talking to media persons outside the accountability court hearing corruption cases against her family. She rejected all the rumors regarding the rift among the Sharif family.

Responding to question of VIP accountability, Maryam said that despite the mother’s illness they are appearing in the court and Nawaz,s questionable disqualification still some rivals called it VIP accountability.

She added that VIP accountability is that when the vehicle turns around from a halfway because of back pain while on the way to court, she was pointing towards former president General (Rtd) Pervez Musharaf.

Earlier, Maryam reached the court after landing at Islamabad airport in a special plane from Lahore while her husband MNA Safdar arrived before her at Federal Judicial Complex.

Both are accused in the Avenfield properties reference.
