ECP decides to install CCTV cameras during by-election of NA-120

ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) decided to install CCTV cameras and deploy Army personnel at polling stations during the NA-120 by-polls which is scheduled on September 17.

Ministry of Defence approved the request of deploying army soldiers during the polling but the installation of CCTV cameras at Polling stations and printing press will be on the request of Army and ECP wrote to Chief Secretary to take necessary measures to install cameras at polling stations and printing press.

However, National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) told ECP that 27,000 ID cards in NA-120 were made before the year 2005 while 2,200 voters have New Overseas ID Card (NICOP). NADRA revealed that biometric data of voters with twelve-year-old ID cards or NICOP is not available.
