Fawad for speeding up PTV’s digitalization process

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain on Monday called for speeding up digitalization process of the Pakistan Television Corporation.

Chairing a high level meeting to review the digitalization of PTV from analogue signal here, the minister said in the age of competition, those not adopting the new technology lagged behind.

The minister was given a briefing on the progress of digitilazation of the PTV. He said with digitalization the standard of PTV screen would improve manifold. He said the PTV was a national institution and identity of Pakistan’s face and under the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan the face of Pakistan would be brightened and improved.

He said the digitalization process was delayed for several years and strenuous efforts were needed to accomplish this task. The PTV had a glorious past and revival of that glory would be great service for the nation, he added.

The meeting was attended by secretaries information and broadcasting, planning and development, and finance. Senior officers of the ministries of information and broadcasting and planning and development were also present in the meeting.

Furthermore Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain Monday said if Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf was in power today, Jegangir Tareen had big contribution in this achievement.

In a tweet, he said Jehangir Tareen attends the federal cabinet meetings on the desire of Prime Minister Imran Khan and the senior leadership should show respect for his desire.

He said due to a court verdict, Jehangir Tareen was out of electoral politics, but not out of the hearts of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf workers.
