FIA blacklists 87 immigration officers and officials in Greece boat incident probe

ISLAMABAD: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) headquarters has blacklisted more than 87 immigration officers and officials who were found involved in Greece boat capsize incident which had claimed lives of 209 Pakistanis who were going to Europe illegally.

Apart from immigration, the blacklisted personnel will also be banned from posting in FIA’s anti-human trafficking circles.

The blacklist officers and officials included constables to Assistant Director level officers.

13 officers of Karachi zone and 2 officers of FIA Sukkur are also included in blacklisting orders. While other blacklisted officials included from FIA Gujranwala, Peshawar, Kohat, Multan, Islamabad, Lahore, Faisalabad and Balochistan zones.

Blacklist officials and officers included women officials as well. All the officers and personnel were blacklisted and banned after a formal inquiry.

Dozens of female and male officials posted at Karachi Airport have been blacklisted for posting in FIA Immigration.
