Fire erupts at plastic warehouse in Karachi

KARACHI (Monitoring Desk): Dangerous fire erupted at a plastic warehouse in Karachi during afternoon hours and its consequent spread to the surrounding areas caused immense damage.

Fire brigade and rescue officials arrived at the SITE area immediately, but failed to take the situation under control despite continuous efforts for over two hours.

A number of vehicles of firefighters and their teams have remained busy trying to extinguish the fire which has been spreading to the nearby areas.

There is also a threat of gas leakage in the area after the fire eruption. A team of rescue officials from the Sui Southern Gas Company has also been called up in the SITE area. They have been directed to trace the gas leakage to avoid any further damage.

The fire also caused damage to the generator played outside the factory. Contingents of police and Rangers are deployed in the area for any emergency situation.
