Five militants killed in Taliban & ISIS clashes in Nangarhar

NANGARHAR: As many as five militants belonging to Taliban and ISIS groups were killed and dozens other were injured during their clashes in eastern Narngarhar province of Afghanistan.

The local officials said that the clashes between the armed groups was started in Chaparhar district on Friday and which was continued till the Saturday in which five militants from the both the groups were killed and dozens others were injured.

The statement by the provincial government also added that a Taliban insurgent has joined peace process by handing over a pistol, an AK-47 assault rifle, and three hand grenades.

According to the officials, the Taliban insurgent joined peace process in Dur Baba district.

The anti-government armed militant groups including the Taliban and ISIS loyalists have not commented regarding the report so far.
