Mashal case: ATC Hazara to begin trial from 19 September in prison

PESHAWAR: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Hazara will starts trial from September 19 in Mashal Khan lynching case at the central prison Haripur as it was transferred to Haraza from Mardan on the directives of Peshawar High Court.

A total of 57 suspects were arrested in Mashal lynching case and four others are absconding including a PTI councilor and it was learnt that the ATC Hazara will learn the case for three days every week.

Mashal Khan, a student of the journalism of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, was lynched by a mob of students, employees and some outsiders on April 13 after they leveled allegations of blasphemy against him in which Mashal Khan was murdered but the other student who faced the same charges was also beaten however, he was rescued. A joint investigation team formed by the government following the incident cleared Mashal Khan of blasphemy charges.
