Four ALP personnel among ten killed in Ghazni firefight

Monitoring Desk

GHAZNI CITY: Four Afghan Local Police (ALP) personnel and six Taliban have been killed during a clash in the Deh Yak district of southern Ghazni province, an official said on Wednesday.

Mohammad Arif Noori, the governor’s spokesman, told local Afghan media the militants attacked a security check-post in the Rabat locality of the district.

He said four ALP members and six insurgents were killed in the ensuing firefight. The attack was repulsed by security forces, the official added.

Abdullah, a resident of the area, confirmed the guerrillas assaulted the post. However, he was unaware of casualties.

On the other hand, Taliban’s spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed four security personnel had been killed and their weapons seized by the militants. He did not provide details of casualties among the assailants.
