Herath breaks Akram’s record

KARACHI: Sri Lankan Rangana Herath has broken Wasim Akram’s test wickets record of 414 on Saturday in match against Bangladesh.

Revered former pacer Akram had taken 414 wickets in Test matches during his career and the record was broken today by the Sri Lankan left-arm spinner. However, Muttiah Muralitharan remains at the top with 800 Test wickets. Herath today surpassed Akram’s 414 total in his 89th Test match during Bangladesh series. Earlier, the player had scored a hat-trick against Australia.
