Inter-boards tug of war contest concludes

TIMERGARA: The All Pakistan inter-boards tug of war competitions concluded at Gulabad College here on Thursday.

The Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education (BISE) Malakand got first position in these contests beating the BISE Lahore in the final match watched by a huge crowd. The BISE Peshawar team bagged third position.

The final and semi final matches were watched by a large crowd. Before the final match the players of Bannu and Peshawar boards presented traditional Khattak dance on drum beats and got applause from the audience.

The PTI woman MPA Nageena Khan was chief guest of the concluding function. She along with chairman Malakand board Prof Shaukat Ali and chairman Bannu board Prof Jehan Dad Marwat distributed shield and trophies among the top three teams and best players of the event. The chairmen boards were also awarded commendation certificates and shields.

Speaking on the occasion Ms Nageena Khan highlighted importance of sports and termed the inter boards’ sports’ competitions a step forward for bringing the nation together. She said the PTI government had pledged to construct sports’ stadiums at tehsil level and the pledge would soon be materialized.

The BISE Malakand chairman Prof Shaukat Ali, BISE Bannu chairman Jehan Dad Marwat and others appreciated the organizers and thanked the players for participating in the event.
