Interesting updates from the sets of Mardaani 2

Monitoring Desk

MUMBAI: Rani Mukerji is all set to reprise the role of the fearless and committed Superintendent of Police, Shivani Shivaji Roy in Mardaani 2 and the actress is not leaving any stone unturned to nail her act.

Currently, an action-packed month-long shooting schedule of the film is taking place. And recently, Rani shot a chase sequence under the scorching sun in 42 degrees.

A source from the set said, “It was a long chase sequence in this boiling heat and we wanted to wrap this shot in one take. Rani is known to nail most scenes in one take and she did the same on this occasion too but since it was a chase sequence, she insisted that we shoot it a couple of times so that we have variations of the shot. It was hot and we could see she was getting dehydrated but she nailed each take. The entire crew got really motivated seeing her level of commitment. The shooting team is not used to this heat and Rani’s commitment really got the entire team going.”

Produced by Aditya Chopra, Mardaani 2 is a sequel of Mardaani (2014). While the prequel was directed by Pradeep Sarkar, this one will mark the directorial debut of Gopi Puthran, the writer of the first part of the Mardaani franchise.
