LANDI KOTAL: The tribal journalists of Landi Kotal press club condemned offense of Bajaur press club by the traders’ community of Bajaur Agency and demanded investigation of the mal-practice. An emergency meeting of the media persons was held in Landi Kotal press club on Saturday that was attended by numbers of local media persons.
The participants expressed their regret over the wrongdoing of the business community of Bajaur by closing the press club on pretext of not granting coverage to clash of the traders and the administration officials during anti-encroachment drive, carried in the town last day.
The tribal journalists termed the act as attack on freedom of press and said such kind of suppressing actions were unacceptable to them. The journalists of Khyber Agency were standing firm with their fellows, Bajaur media persons to foil any conspiracy hitching against tribal journalists, they remarked.
They demanded the administration of Bajaur Agency to inquire the incident and awarded exemplary punishment to those found guilty.
