MUMBAI: Rumours of the third instalment of the Dabangg series going on floors have been doing the rounds for quite some time now. Producer Arbaaz Khan recently confirmed that the team will kick off shooting for the film in the first week of April.
The first film in the franchise, Dabangg, which released in 2010, became a huge success at the box office and the second titled Dabangg 2 also proved on to be a mass entertainer. While it was already confirmed that Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha will continue with the portrayal of their characters, there were rumours that Kareena Kapoor Khan too will feature for an item song in the film.
However, in an interview with a leading daily, Arbaaz squashed the rumours of the actress being approached for a special part in the film. The producer further stated that an announcement will be made at the right time.
Currently, Salman is shooting for Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat, that is slated to release on June 5 this year. Along with Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif in lead, the film will also feature Sunil Grover, Disha Patani, Nora Fatehi and Jacki Shroff in pivotal roles.
