Four civilians including three women martyred in Indian firing at LoC

MUZAFFARABAD: As many as four civilians including three women and a child were martyred after Indian forces started unprovoked firing along the Line of Control.

According to reports, Pakistani Army responded effectively to the Indian aggression on LoC.

Four civilians including three women and a child were martyred and 11 other civilians were injured and transferred to hospitals.

Sources said that Indian forces targeted civilian population along different sectors of the LoC. The enemy forces resorted to shelling on civil population at Abbaspur, Chharoi, Khoi Ratta, Nathial, Darra Sher Khan, Bhimber and Chhamb sector, reports said.

The enemy forces used light and heavy artillery to target the civilian population, reports said.

According to reports, casualties took place in Charhoti, Fatehpur Thakiala and Khoi Ratta tehsils.

Earlier, on Tuesday Indian aircraft intruded the Line of Control (LoC) near Muzaffarabad sector, however they scrambled back following timely response from the Pakistan Air Force (PAF).

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor in a tweet said the Indian Air Force violated the LoC and the PAF’s prompt response compelled the Indian aircrafts to go back.

He said “facing timely and effective response from Pakistan Air Force, [Indian jets] released [their] payload in haste while escaping, which fell near Balakot.” However, no casualties or damage was reported, DG ISPR added.
