LHC orders to de-seal Sheikh Rashid’s Lal Haveli

F.P. Report

LAHORE: While remanding back the decision of the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) chairman, the Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi Bench has ordered to de-seal Lal Haveli, on Monday.

The court directed the ETPB to re-hear the Lal Haveli case.

“The petitions filed by Sheikh Rashid and his brother Sheikh Siddique should be heard again,” the court said.

“The petitioner should be given full opportunity to present his arguments before the court,” it added.

Justice Mirza Waqas Rauf heard the case.

“In India, a law has been made, and the issue of evacuee properties has been settled once and for all,” he said.

“Our departments do not run according to the law. They become active when they wish,” he added.

While talking to the media, Sheikh Rashid said: “I have no words. Saradar Razzaq supported me in difficult times of life.”

He claimed: “Lal Haveli is [my] personal property. The funerals of my father and brothers were taken out from there. The whole city knows everything.”

He added: “Sadaqat Ali Khan gave an excellent judgment on our recovery writ the other day. I leave everything to Allah. We are very proud of the fact that Rawalpindi is true in its friendship and enmity.”

He stated: “The CPO knows that I was with him from September 17 to October 22 or he knows where I was.”

He declared: “Pakistan army is great. Our politics has always been with the army. We never spoke against the army.”

He added: “Nothing bad happened to me. I will contest the election on both the seats from Pindi. A case was registered on October 5 at Waris Khan police station. If my arrest is required in the case, call me and I will go to the police station myself.”

He declared that May 9 was a cursed programme. “Asim Munir is the pride of the city. We are proud of Nadeem Anjum.”

He added: “If I am arrested, I will fight the election from jail.”
