Market for Ramadan foods become bustling in Kabul

KABUL (TOLOnews): In the holy month of Ramadan, the market for Ramadan foods has become bustling in Kabul.
Fried foods and pickles are among the items that most people in the country consume during Ramadan.
Some pickle shop owners in the capital express satisfaction with their sales during Ramadan compared to other months.
Ali, 31, has a pickle shop in a corner of the capital. He says that his sales market is lively during the holy month.
Ali told TOLOnews, “Thank God, our markets are doing well; we are not ungrateful because it is our season, and it is better compared to previous months.”
Another shopkeeper, Mahfuz, said, “Most people buy local pickles and fried pickles. Our customers come and buy red pickles. People in Kabul also buy more red pickles; but among the pickles, red pickles have the highest sales, and among jams, they buy plum jam.”
Bolani is also one of the fast-cooked and desirable foods of the Afghan people and has its particular enthusiasts.
Several residents of Kabul also share stories about the culture of Ramadan foods.
Zubair, a resident of Kabul, said, “Common foods include Borani, eggplant, green beans, okra, potatoes, or some other things are found.”
Zakir, who has been making Bolani in a corner of the capital for several years, says that his business market has a special boom compared to a few months ago.
Zakir told a TOLOnews reporter, “The work is better than before because it is Ramadan, and people like Bolani more; they buy it or eat it.”
Many Muslims around the world fast during the month of Ramadan, and in Islamic countries, with the arrival of this month, people decorate their Ramadan tables with colorful foods and welcome the holy month of Ramadan.
