Lauding the security of Kandahar, he said it was the credit of police chief General Abdul Raziq.
On the occasion, Kandahar provincial assembly chairman Syed Jan Khakrezwal and other speakers stressed on national unity and urged the government to utilize all-out efforts for the restoration of peace. They assured to support the government for this purpose.
Tribal elders and some parliamentarians are also accompanying Ahmad Wali Masaud during his ongoing visit to Kandahar.
According to Masaud, his visit is aimed at discussing the prevailing situation of Kandahar with the people and pointing out ways to address the issues.
