ISLAMABAD: US Secretary of Defense, James Mattis arrived on Monday at the Noor Khan Airbase Islamabad and officials of Defense and Foreign ministries received at the airport.
James Mattis is arrived in Islamabad for one day visit to Pakistan as it is his first visit since taking charge of the pentagon.
James Mattis said that US is working hard to finding common ground to work together with Pakistan. According the US Department of Defense, press release, the basic aim of the Mattis visit to re-affirm the US commitment to partnership in the region.
Mattis began his crucial five-day tour of the Middle East including Egypt, Jordan, and Kuwait and Islamabad on Friday. He is set to meet Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
