KABUL (Ariana News): Marking the start of the new school year this week, Acting Minister of Education Habibullah Agha said that modern education is urgently needed, along with religious education, in the country in order for Afghanistan to progress.
Agha said the only way for the country to become self-sustainable and end the need for foreign help is to ensure modern education is provided alongside religious education.
Agha added that the Islamic Emirate is not against modern education because Islam is not against it.
He stated that this ministry is trying to improve the quality of religious and modern education in the country.
“Modern education is a need for the progress of our country,” he added.
Abdul Salam Hanafi, the administrative deputy of the Prime Minister, also stated that a nation without education will always need others and a nation dependent on others can never become independent.
Hanafi said that more work should be done to provide modern education and technology training along with religious education for students.
