KABUL: The Mother & Child Center was opened in Ghani Khel district in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan with teh financial support of the Federal Rpublic of Germany through PATRIP Foundation.
The Center was inaugurated in the presence of high level officials including the provincial Mohammad Gulab Mangal.
Mangal congratulated the district residents for the opening of the center and thanked the the government of Germany for the financial support and building of the center.
He instructed the health professionals and local residents to take good care of the center and its equipment besides providing good care to the children and mothers in a professional and good manner.
Provincial public health director Dr. Najibullah Kamwal said the center has been built on 1000 square meter of area with a total cost of 39 million Afghanis.
He said the center has 50 beds, 23 rooms, 4 operation room, modern equipment, water system, and other necessary facilities.
According to Kamwal, similar centers will be built and inaugurated in other districts and area of the eastern Nangarhar province in the near future.
