KABUL (Agencies): Deputy Prime Minister of the IEA for political affairs, Mawlavi Abdul Kabir, in a meeting with a number of scholars, influential people, and tribal elders of Urgon district, Paktika province, said, he has directed relevant departments to provide urgent assistance to the flood affected people in the region.
According to a statement released by the office of the Deputy Prime Minister, scholars and elders of Urgon while expressing satisfaction with the strengthening of the Islamic system in the country, assured their support, and said that there have been significant positive changes in the country over the last two years.
The participants of the meeting also shared information regarding the losses caused by the recent floods in the district and expressed concern that necessary measures have not been taken to help flood-affected families in the region.
They also shared their demands and suggestions regarding the expansion of services in fields such as education, health, and reconstruction in the Urgon district. Mawlavi Abdul Kabir expressed his sympathies to Urgon elders for the damage caused by the recent floods and stated that the organs concerned have been requested to reach out to individuals impacted immediately and focus on methods to prevent such disasters in the future.
He assured the elders that their demands and suggestions would be forwarded to the appropriate authorities for consideration.
