Rafiullah Mandokhail

ZHOB: All Parties Action Committee Zhob has ‘rejected’ the delimitation of constituencies by the Election Commission of Pakistan and demanded that the number of Provincial Assembly (PA) seats should be increased keeping in views the growing population of the constituency revealed in the recent census.

The political leaders made the demand while addressing a press conference here at Nazaryati secretariat. Ameer Jamiat Ulema Islam Nazaryati Molavi Abdul Hanan Mandokhail, Pashoonkhwa Milli Awami party leader Jamal Mandokhail, Jamaat-e-Islami leader Maulana Maula Dad Kakar, President Awami National Party Anwer Mandokhail, President Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Dawood Khan Mandokhail, JUI-F leader Hafiz Hazrat Gul Babar, President Kakar Jamhori Party Haji Nawaz Khan Kakar, President Pakistan Muslim League (Q) Baz Khan Mandokhail and Juma Khan Babar said that according to the census report the total population of Zhob district was around half a million that proved Zhob one of the populous districts in the Balochistan.

They said despite the fact that the constituency is spread over hundreds of square kilometers; many areas from other constituency have been merged in Zhob constituency during the delimitation of constituencies. Now the constituency deserves to get one more PA seat.

“The increase in the seats of the provincial assembly would enhance the representation of the people and it would also be instrumental in redressing the grievances of the people in a befitting manner” they said. The political leaders asked the chief election commissioner to increase the number of PA seats.
