Pakistan shows concerns over Trump decision of recognizing Jerusalem as capital of Israel

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan showed its deep concerned over the President Donald Trump move to recognize Jerusalem as the Israeli capital and adding that the move of US will bring chaos in the world especially will affect the peace and security in Middle East.

Pakistan Foreign Office issued a statement on late Wednesday night after Donald Trump signed the documents and recognized the disputed city as Israel’s capital and the decision also overturn the decades long American policy jeopardize the security of middle east.

The Pakistani Foreign Office went on to say the nation that the recent move will not bring any positivity among the world and it will further bring differences among the religions.

Pakistan termed it a violation of international law and United Nations Security Council’s (UNSC) resolutions and adding that Trump’s decision was a serious setback to the rule of law and international norms.

“Pakistan urges the United States to revisit its decision as soon as possible in order to avoid the potentially grave repercussions in the region and beyond.

The Pakistani government welcomed Turkey’s announcement to convene an extraordinary summit of Muslim countries next week to talk about the matter.
