Peace must for development says Ahsan Iqbal

BEIJING: Interior Minister, Ahsan Iqbal has said that peace is very important for the development of any country and without maintaining the peace no country can achieve the dreams of development.

Iqbal said this while talking to media after attending an opening  ceremony of the 86th Interpol’s General Assembly held in Beijing on Tuesday.

He also appreciated the China efforts for maintaining the peace in the region and adding that Chinese leadership playing important and positive role in maintaining the peace in the region.

“In a globalised world, no country can keep itself aloof from what happens in other parts of the world,” he added.

Meanwhile, the interior minister, along with Pakistan Ambassador to China Masood Khalid and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Director General Bashir Memon held a meeting with his Russian counterpart.

During the meeting, both the sides expressed a need to further promote cooperation against the menace of corruption and cybercrime.

Ahsan Iqbal is on an official five-day visit to China.
