PESHAWAR: A two-member bench of Peshawar High Court (PHC) comprising Justice Shakeel Ahmad and Justice Dr. Khursheed Iqbal issued notices to the Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Senior Member of Board of Revenue and relevant Deputy Commissioners to submit their reply in a plea seeking transfer of Revenue Courts to the new Judicial Complex in Charsadda, on Thursday.
The counsel argued that despite the construction of the new complex Revenue Courts have not been shifted there, and cases are still being heard in the old building.
This has caused difficulties for lawyers and litigants, as they have to travel to different locations for different cases.
The counsel Ahmad Zeb argued that the new Judicial Complex was inaugurated by the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and even the former Chief Justice had taken notice of the issue but the Revenue Courts have still not been transferred to the new complex.
Peshawar High Court’s divisional bench of Justices Shakeel Ahmad and Justice Dr. Khurshid Iqbal sought a response from the relevant authorities and issued notices in this regard while adjourned further hearing after arguments.
