PHC Bar Association elections: Grand Alliance clinches all major positions

PESHAWAR: In the annual elections of the Peshawar High Court Bar Association, the Grand Alliance clinched all major positions, including president, vice president, and secretary-general.

Fida Gul Advocate, representing the Grand Alliance, won the presidency, Alam Khan Adeenzai became the secretary-general, and Miyan Asif Aman secured the position of vice president. Malgari wakeelan managed to secure only the position of library secretary, which was won by Muhammad Arif Firdous. Remarkably, this marks the second consecutive victory for the Grand Alliance’s joint candidate in the presidential.

According to unofficial results, Fida Gul Advocate of the Grand Alliance won the presidency with 1145 votes, while his opponent, Aminur Rahman Advocate of Malgari wakeelan, received 875 votes. Mian Asif Aman, the joint candidate of the Grand Alliance, secured victory for the vice president’s seat with 1058 votes, while his rival, Shaukat Ali Afridi of Malgari wakeelan, received 900 votes.

Similarly, for the position of secretary-general, the Grand Alliance’s candidate Alam Khan Adeenzai Advocate secured victory with 735 votes, while his competitors, Amjad Hassan Tanoli and Javaid Ali Khan, received 665 and 581 votes, respectively. Fawadur Rehman of the Grand Alliance won the position of finance secretary with 908 votes, while his contender, Ruqiya Saeed, received 571 votes. Ijaz Ali Shah, the Grand Alliance’s candidate, secured victory for the joint secretary’s seat with 1232 votes, while his competitor, Zahid Iqbal of Malgari wakeelan, received 697 votes. Muhammad Arif Firdous of Malgari won the position of library secretary with 1110 votes, defeating his rival, Noorzeb Khalil, who received 801 votes.

Similarly, for the position of press secretary, the Grand Alliance’s Shah Khan Zeb Mahmand secured the most votes with 1242, while Murtaza Qureshi received 707 votes. Notably, Miss Mehwish Ashfaq and Muhammad Ishtiaq were elected unopposed as executive members.
