PHC orders provision of Shuhada package to proxy Khasadar

PESHAWAR: A divisional bench of Peshawar High Court (PHC) comprising Justice Syed Arshad Ali and Justice Waqar Ahmad ordered provision of “Shuhada Package” along with benefits to the family of proxy Khasadar killed in bomb blast, on Wednesday.

PHC ordered concerned authorities to conclude the procedure immediately for ensuring provision of “Shuhada package” to the family of proxy Khasada.

The counsel Amin-ur-Rehman Yousafzai advocate argued that proxy Khasadar Shahzad embraced martyrdom on 27th March 2009 in suicide blast. He added that at the time of martyrdom Shahzad was 21 years aged while on Rs3 lac was provided to his mother as compensation.

On 13th February 2023 PHC ordered the provision of “Shuhada package” along with benefits and pension to the martyr’s family but to no veil, the counsel stated. He argued that a Contempt of Court plea had been submitted before honourable court for compliance of judicial orders.

PHC ordered provision of “Shuhada package” to martyr’s family while all respondents appeared before court and dispose of Contempt of Court plea in this regard.

PHC acquits alleged murderer: PHC’s divisional bench comprising of Ishtiaq Ibrahim and Justice Sahibzada Asadullah suspended lifetime imprisonment along with fine of killer allegedly murdered his wife over domestic dispute.

According to prosecution, Barakat Ullah killed his wife in the premises of Chamkani police station on 15th October 2014. The father and brother of deceased had nominated Barakat Ullah and his brother in their complainant.

The trial court had acquitted co-accused in the case while Barakat Ullah was convicted for lifetime imprisonment and also imposed fine in this regard.

The counsel Shabbir Khan and Sheraz Ali advocates argued that prosecution had failed to produce evidences for establishment of link between Barakat Ullah and commencement of the offense as well as the complainant was not present at the crime scene.

The petitioner is vegetable vendor and was present at his shop as confirmed by witnesses at the time of commencement of the crime.

PHC’s divisional bench comprising of Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim and Justice Sahibzada Asadullah acquitted alleged murderer from charges after conclusion of the arguments.
