Railway authority head visits Russia

KABUL (TOLOnews): Bakht Rahman Sharafat, the director of the Afghanistan Railway Authority, went to Russia as the head of a delegation to attract investment and participate in the “Astrakhan International” meeting.
The spokesperson of the Afghanistan Railway Authority said that the head of the department will give a speech at the meeting about Afghanistan’s railway projects.
“The Afghanistan Railway Authority expects that the meeting will be beneficial in the development of railways in Afghanistan and will satisfy international financial and monetary organizations, countries, and businessmen to invest in Afghanistan’s railway projects,” said Abdul Sami Durani, spokesman of the ARA.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Economy considers the implementation of railway projects in the country to be beneficial for the development of the country’s economy.
“The Khawaf-Herat railway project plays an important role in the transfer of goods and the creation of facilities between Afghanistan and Iran, and if the project is developed, it can play a very important role in the export of our goods in the region,” said Abdul Latif Nazari, deputy of the Economy Ministry.
Some investment analysts said that investing in the development of railways in Afghanistan is beneficial for the country’s economy.
“Afghanistan is surrounded by land, the construction of railways can make the country’s foreign trade flourish and have a positive effect on the country’s economy,” said Abdul Zahur Mudabir, an economist.
Based on the information of the Afghanistan Railway Authority, the Astrakhan International” meeting will be held for two days, and the delegation of the Islamic Emirate is trying to encourage the participants of the meeting to invest in railway projects in the country, in order to connect the countries through the Afghan railway.
