BUNER: District Police Officer (DPO) Mohammad Irshad Khan Yousafzai on Thursday claimed to have arrested 27 suspected including 13 were facilitators of miscreants and showed heavy cache of arms were recovered from the procession of the arrested persons.
He told media police launched search and strike operation in the jurisdictions of police stations Pir Baba, Daggar, Gagra and Nawagai. The operation was launched as per directives of the inspector general of police KP based on information of militants movement in the hilly areas, DPO added. DPO told that during search and strike operation those were arrested confessed of being facilitators of the miscreants and also pointed out the hide outs where in the miscreants were buried to dump heavy catchy of arms in the militants first headquarter and entry point Gokand Valley.
He displayed the arms before media consisting of 17 Kalashnikovs, 30 pistols, 6 rifles, 12 guns, one hand grenade, two Kalakov, one stand gun, 15 magazines of Kalashnikovs and 1100 cartridges of different natures.
The DPO in response to questions told peace in the district was restored with the support of locals and militants activities were under strict watch of police personnel while security arrangements for the Shaheeda Sar Cultural Festival scheduled from 13,14 and 15 were finalized and more than five hundred personnel were deployed to make sure security on routs and the spot as well. He claimed army personnel will also help to make security proof foul during Festival and over all.
