HAFIZABAD: The District Police have arrested 78 accused involved in theft, robbery, burglary and dacoity cases during October last and have recovered household articles worth Rs. 6.7 million.
According to the press release of the DPO, 169 proclaimed offenders involved in heinous crimes have also been nabbed and 6 inter-district gangs of vehicle snatchers, dacoits and robbers were smashed and snatched bikes, cars and other articles worth rupees 5.8 million were recovered from them.
Moreover, action under NAP continued vigorously in the district and 53 anti-social elements were rounded up during the period under review and police recovered 13 short guns, 5 riffles, 31 pistols, 2 revolvers, 2 carbines and 173 rounds of ammunition were recovered from them. Besides 2686 grams heroin, 43 kg chars and 311 liters liquor from them.
