PPP was blocked in 2013 in engineered election: Ex-MPA

F.P. Report

TIMERGARA: The Pakistan People Party divisional vice president and former MPA Muhammad Zamin Khan on Saturday said his party was blocked to freely run election campaign in 2013 in order to keep it away from the powers.

He said the PPP was still the most popular party in the country that would form next government at the center, Sindh, Baluchistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He was addressing a party joining gathering at Watangi Payeen where dozens of political workers of the JI, PTI and ANP parted ways with their parties and joined the PPP. Those joined the PPP along with families included Shah Farooq, Khurshid, Kalimullah, Hamidullah, Gulzar Khan and others.

Zamin alleged some elements wanted to divide the nation and destabilize the state but the PPP would not let them do so. He said the PPP was still the most popular party in the country as majority of workers were joining it in parts of the country. Welcoming the new comers in the party he said the PPP would not disappoint them. He said the 2013 general election was engineered and the TTP chief Hakimullah Mehsud was supervising it.

“The PPP way to powers was blocked in 2013 and was not let to run free its electioneering,” he said, adding the situation had changed and the PPP would form next government in the country. He said it was the PPP that gave the nation political awareness, national identity card, Pakistani passport and the gift of atomic bomb. “The formation of 1973 constitution is another gift of the PPP which was passed unanimously,” he said. The former lawmaker said the party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari would visit Timergara on the eve of his martyred brother Zahir Shah’s anniversary and would address a big party gathering.

Zamin’s brother Zahir Shah Khan alias Bhai Jan the then district naib nazim along with five other party workers were killed during the election campaign for his brother in May, 2013 when a remote controlled bomb exploded near his vehicle in Babagam Maidan. Also on Friday scores of political workers announced to join the PPP at Sangolai area of maidan during a function which was addressed by former MPA and candidate for PK 13 Muhammad Zamin. On the occasion Umar Zada, Azizullah, Fazal Subhan, Syed Ahmad Shah, Hafeez ur Rehman and others announced to quit the JI and PTI. They joined the PPP.
