PPP decides not to award election tickets to ‘turncoats’ for upcoming polls

F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has decided not to award tickets for the upcoming general elections to those who had deserted the party in the past, on Tuesday.

According to reports, the decision had been taken at the party’s meeting, which was presided over by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and was attended by Asif Ali Zardari, Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani, Makhdoom Ahmad Mehmood, Nayyer Bukhari, Abdul Qadir Shaheen, Rukhsana Bangash and others.

They further said that politicians like Firdous Ashiq Awan, Qayyum Jatoi, Shaukat Basra, Nosher Langrial, Kashif Naveed Pinsota and Dr. Javed Gunjal, who had left the PPP and joined the PTI, would be affected by the decision.

Sources claimed that all these persons had approached senior party leaders so that they could rejoin the PPP, but Bilawal refused to accept them again.

They added that now names of these politicians would not be included in the list of the party’s candidates for the general elections since the party chairman had decided to show no leniency towards them.
