Prabhu Deva confirms the sequel to Rowdy Rathore

MUMBAI: Bollywood has tons of sequels in the pipeline. We recently saw the release of Student Of The Year 2 and now, we have sequels like Coolie No. 1, Kick 2, Housefull 4 and Dabangg 3 lined up. With already a lot to look forward to, it looks like Akshay Kumar’s Rowdy Rathore is the latest addition in that list.

A leading daily got in touch with Prabhu Deva, who directed the first installment, regarding the same. The director confirmed saying, “We are in the process of writing Rowdy Rathore 2 right now and inshallah, it will feature Akshay Kumar in the lead.”

However, he is yet to confirm that whether Sonakshi Sinha, who featured in the original will be part of the second instalment. He further added, “Right from Toilet Ek Prem Katha to Padman, his films have ample of humor. He can manage anything and everything and is one of the only all rounders we have in the industry today.” The film is expected to go on floors next year.

In the original, Akshay Kumar played a double role – one of a local thug and another of a police officer.
