President Ghani to inaugurate uplift schemes in Paktia

MUMBAI: Afghan President Ashraf Ghani reached the Paktia province of Afghanistan on Sunday where he will inaugurate a number of important uplift schemes in the area.

Presidential Palace issued a statement in this regard on Sunday and according to it, President Ghani is in Paktia to inaugurate several projects including the Paktia sub-station power project, the Gardez-Zurmat Road, a new housing project and a new Paktia industrial park, as well as the new police headquarters building.

On arrival in Paktia, Ghani was welcomed by local officials, security personnel and tribal elders.

He also met with security officials to assess the situation.
