KABUL (Agencies): Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs Mawlavi Abdul Kabir in a meeting with the deputy mayor Kabul Municipality highlighted the contribution of the private sector crucial in the urban development of Kabul city. According to a statement from the office of Mr. Kabir, the Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs met with Mawlavi Habib-ur- Rahman Mansour, deputy mayor of Kabul city in of cultural and social affairs. During the meeting, Mr. Mansour stated that 25 intersections and a large number of flowerpots have been constructed in Kabul city in collaboration with the private sector over the past few months. He stated that thousands of honest local and street representatives have been appointed, who have proven to be very positive in urban affairs and security. Approximately 12,000 saplings have been planted in collaboration with local residents in different regions of Kabul city this year, said the deputy mayor. Hundreds of madrasas have also been established with public supporting around Kabul, with 200 to 800 students enrolled in each of these centers. Mr. Mansoor went on to say that 20,000 acres of land in Kabul, including 140 local parks, have been recovered from usurpation, with the majority of the parks currently undergoing maintenance. While praising the work of the Kabul municipality, the Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs stated that the relevant departments ought to take part in the development of Kabul city alongside the Kabul municipality. He highlighted the importance of the private sector in the development of Kabul city and assured of the government’s support for those working for the progress of the country’s capital. Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the need of collaboration between the municipality and local representatives for the city security and discipline, and he offered necessary directives to the Kabul municipality’s officials.
