PTI introduces membership cards for workers, leaders

LAHORE: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Thursday introduced membership cards which will enable PTI workers to remain in contact with the leadership.

“Leadership of any level will require this card. If the leadership required opinion of their members, the members would be able to give their opinion through the membership card,” he said addressing workers’ convention in Lahore.

He directed his workers to establish camps to make new members for PTI saying that the card would have complete credentials of members.

The PTI chief said those candidates wishing to contest election would be given party ticket through suggestions of district council members.

He had on Wednesday conceded political infighting in the party over tickets. He said he would carefully allot tickets.

Imran said party tickets were awarded in the past in a bit rush, but this time around they would be more careful in awarding tickets.

He also said following membership campaign, he would elaborate how to make new Pakistan. In a bid to increase influence in Punjab, he asked his party workers to distribute membership cards in Lahore which, he said, decided fortune of the province.

Imran said the PTI’s policy would be to support the poor and it would make people come out of poverty like China did. China brought out seven million people out of the poverty in 30 years, he added.
