PTI, JI announce amicable ending of coalition

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf and Jamaat-e-Islami Thursday announced amicable end of coalition in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. However, in case of any difficulty the later assured to support to its former coalition partner.

The decision was announced in a joint press conference of Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and former senior minister and parliamentary leader of JI in the provincial assembly, Inayatullah Khan.

Those present on the occasion were included Speaker, KP Assembly Asad Qaiser and provincial minister Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani, Ishtiaq Urmar, Imtiaz Shahid Qureshi and Spokesman of KP government, Shaukat Ali Yousafzai whileHaji Habib-ur-Rehman and Aizazul Mulk of JI flanked their own parliamentary leader.

Announcing the ending of the alliance, the parliamentary leader of JI, Inayatullah Khan said that they are setting up a healthy trend in the democratic history of separation from a coalition government in a friendly manner.

The former senior minister said that they are not quitting the provincial government on the basis of any difference or complaint against it, but are going to join another alliance.

He said that five-year back, both parties have entered into alliance after signing an 11-point charter and claimed the achievement of the most of targets. He said that both coalition partners have succeeded in bringing improvement in health and education sector and their joint struggled had ensured the rights of the province.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said that FATA will merged into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa next year while local bodies elections in FATA will held in October this year. Similarly, he said that elections for provincial assembly seats in FATA will be held in March 2019.

To a question regarding, the ANP letter to KP Governor to ask the chief minister to seek vote of confidence from the provincial assembly, he said that future line of course will be decided after the decision of the Governor. He claimed that different political parties have assured him support. Therefore, he is still sitting in the CM House. Regarding the presentation of the provincial budget, he told that negotiations with the Leader of Opposition in the provincial assembly and PML-N were continued for the purpose.

He said that the opposition leader and Jamaat-e-Islami have given names for the caretaker chief minister of the province. He said that the session of the provincial assembly has been postponed to prepare the provincial budget.
