PTI not a democratic party as it links with dictators: Nawaz Sharif

F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and termed it a undemocratic political party for its links with dictators.

Former premier said this on Wednesday after attending the proceedings of the accountability court hearing three corruption references against him. Nawaz said that black laws of dictators were removed from the constitution and the dictators amendment were rejected on the floor of the house yesterday which is achievement of the political parties and parliament.

Nawaz Sharif added that role of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) was very disappointing and he was really amazed that it was presented by the PPP who always stood against the dictators and now favoring the black laws and wants to include it in the constitution.

On Tuesday, PPP tabled amendment bill in the National Assembly of the Elections Amendment Bill 2017, to restrict the disqualified parliamentarians from leading a political party which was rejected by 163 members in the National Assembly.

Regarding the PTI role in the politics, former prime minister added that PTI is not even a political party as they have links with the dictators.

He claimed that Imran Khan from the past four years he is conspiring against the elected and adding that his government was not allowed to work by staging sit-ins which started from 2014 and it badly affected the country progress.

Nawaz added that rules should be same for everyone and claiming that the court behavior is different towards Imran Khan and adding that the double standard will not work and it will remain a question mark on the court proceedings.
