Rain, snowfall force GB people to remain indoors

GILGIT: The entire Gilgit Baltistan region has been gripped by spells of rain and snowfall, increasing the intensity of cold and forcing the people to remain indoors. According to correspondent, many parts of Gilgit-Baltistan have received further snowfall and rain adding to the difficulties of local people.

Three inches more snowfall was recorded in upper parts of Gilgit Baltistan since Tuesday. Skardu remained the coldest place with a minimum temperature of -9 degrees Celsius. Due to continued rain and snowfall seasonal disease have also been increased in GB and scores of effected people were visiting health facilities for treatment. The met office has forecast more rain and snowfall in many parts of GB for next twenty four hours. Owing to bad weather conditions, two scheduled flights by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) have been cancelled for the area.
