MUMBAI: If the reports are to be believed, Shah Rukh Khan has opted out of Mahesh Mathai’s Saare Jahaan Se Achha. The film is based on astronaut Rakesh Sharma, who was the first Indian to travel in space in April 1984.
Even though no official announcement has been made, we hear that the actor walked out of the film after the debacle of Zero at the box-office. Interestingly, Zero too had him venturing into space and the superstar didn’t want to repeat the ‘space angle’ anytime soon. Amidst all this, reports of Vicky Kaushal and Kartik Aaryan being approached for the film did rounds but were later denied.
Meanwhile, the latest we hear from a source is that Ranbir Kapoor is now being considered to play Rakesh Sharma in Saare Jahaan Se Achha. Source further suggests that the Sanju star still has to give his nod to the project. Currently, Ranbir is busy with Dharma Productions’ Brahmastra in which he will be seen opposite Alia Bhatt.
Well, let’s wait for an official announcement from film’s producers Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur or RK himself, real soon.
