Rani Mukerji to be seen in sequel of Mardaani

MUMBAI: Rani Mukerji’s won audiences’ heart and applause as a powerful cop, Shivani Shivaji Roy, in Pradeep Sarkar’s Mardaani in 2014. The film based on kingpin of a child trafficking racket was well received by the critics and did great business at the box-office. The acclaimed film is now all set for a sequel and this time, Rani will be seen as a Superintendent of Police who is locked in a vicious battle with a 21-year old merciless villain.

Today, Yashraj Films revealed an exclusive picture of Rani donning the cop uniform in Mardaani 2 which is surely going to add to the excitement for the film. Rani looks bold, defiant and fearless as the top cop who launches an investigation against the protagonist in the sequel. Rani is going to shoot the major action sequences of the film in May first week in Rajasthan.

Produced by Aditya Chopra, Mardaani 2 marks the directorial debut of GopiPuthran, who was the writer of the first part, Mardaani. YRF is soon going to announce the release date of the film.
