Saif assures transparent, peaceful by-elections

F.P. Report

PESHAWAR: Advisor to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information and Public Relations, Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, has stated that the provincial government has issued directives to relevant authorities to ensure the conduct of by-elections elections in a peaceful and transparent environment.

In a statement issued Friday, he said that in this regard, nine thousand police personnel have been appointed for six thousand polling stations.

The provincial government will provide a peaceful environment for the people to exercise their right to vote. These remarks were made by him through a video message issued from his office regarding the preparations of the provincial government for the upcoming interim elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The Information Advisor has appealed the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to participate in the electoral process wholeheartedly and to use their vote in favor of PTI candidates.

He stated that strengthening Pakistan and ensuring real freedom is only possible through the votes of the people. Barrister Saif expressed hope that the Election Commission will not allow the misuse of Form 45 this time and will not provide the opportunity for Form 47’s results and complaints.

The Information Advisor warned the Election Commission officials that if, God forbid, any such incident occurs, it will have serious consequences. Neither the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf nor the provincial government will permit any such actions. He demanded the Election Commission to fulfill its responsibilities honestly and dutifully for the sake of Pakistan’s constitution, democracy, and developmental system, and to refrain from any party’s patronage and supervision.
He cautioned the Election Commission that if, God forbid, any such incident occurs, its consequences will be severe for the state of Pakistan and its people.
