ZHOB: Rich tribute paid to Sain Kamal Khan Ulasmal Sherani – a veteran nationalist leader and close companion of Khan Shaheed Abdul Samad Khan Achakzai. To mark his 7th death anniversary Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami party held a condolence gathering to recall his services. Hundreds of party activists and supporters attended the gathering.
Addressing on the occasion, Provincial President Pk-MAP Senator Usman Khan Kakar, Provincial Ministers Hamid Khan Achakzai, Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal, MPA Nasrullah Zerey, Dr. Younas Sherani, Dr. Muhammad Shah Mandokhail, Chairman Sultan Sherani, Barmala Khan Barmol, Ghulam Din Sherani, Mehmood Sherani and Mirwais Mandokhail paid rich tributes to Sain Kamal Khan Sherani and lauded his political struggle and literary services.
They said that Sain had spent his entire life in the efforts to unite Pashtoons on one platform and empower them to raise voice for their due rights.
“Despite critical circumstances, he brought out a Pashto journal ‘Pashto’ in 50s. The ‘Gumnam Sepoy’ will be remembered for ages.”
The Pk-MAP leaders vowed not to bow down before any unconstitutional power and expressed the determination to defend democratic institutions in the country.
“We cannot support unconstitutional attempts. Our founding principle is that people are the source of power and we will fully support those who believe in the constitution, supremacy of parliament and democratic system,” adding the party will neither tolerate technocratic political set-up in the country nor accept any decision imposed by any usurper from Punjab.
They lamented that despite the Pashtoons have rendered a lot of sacrifices, but still they are treated like ‘slaves’ and labeled as terrorists. Their thousands of CNICs have been blocked.
The leaders termed the merger of FATA with KP an attempt to divide the Pashtoons and also appose ‘interference’ in the affairs of neighboring Afghanistan.
They alleged that work on the western route of CPEC project doesn’t seem to be initiated in recent government.
Meanwhile, dozens of people from different areas announced joining the Pk-MAP along with their family members. Senator Usman Khan warmly welcomed them.
It is to be mentioned that Sain Kamal Khan Sherani was born in 1924 in Shna Ponga area of Sherani district.
He got basic education from Zhob and got admission in Sandeman high school Quetta in 1939. After completing secondary education in 1940 he went to Islamia college Peshawar and obtained an honors degree in Economics. Sain Kamal Khan died in Nov 2010.
