School enrollment seminar, walk held

ZHOB: Government Teachers Association in order to increase enrollment ratio in government-run schools, held a walk and seminar in collaboration with Education Support Program in high school Killi Khankei Zareef of district Sherani here. District Chairman Sultan Sherani led the walk, he was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Hayat Kakar, District Education Officer Lal Jan Musakhail, Deputy District Education Officer Gul Shah Khan Mandokhail and President GTA Bhutto Sherani. The walk went round the village and drew the attention of parents, notables and community members to the noble cause. The participants were holding banner inscribed with slogan asking parents to enroll their children in schools.

Earlier a seminar was also organized at the school, those who attended the seminar were including Chairman GTA Amir Muhammad Sherani, General Secretary Ali Shah Hariphal, Organizer Ibrahim Nasar, Ex-chairman Ibrahim Sherani, headmaster Ayoub Sherani, ESP team, teachers, students and notables in a large number.

Addressing the seminar they said that holding walk and seminar aimed at creating awareness regarding the importance of education, improving literacy rate and maximum enrollment of out-of-school children.

“The parents should enroll their children and community members should play their key role to persuade the teachers to ensure their presence in schools”. They appealed.

Education is the fundamental right of every child and providing free education to children is responsibility of the government. The parents should send their children to schools allowing them to unfold their dreams, talent and desires through education. They said.

They appreciated all the participants for their dedication to the cause.

It is worth mentioning that district Sherani is one of those districts of the province where drop-out rate in schools is high and schools in the district also lack facilities. Majority of schools are shelter less, having no wash facilities, without electricity and even have no access to clean drinking water.
