Seven armed opponents killed

JALALABAD: Seven armed opponents were killed as a result of airstrike of Afghan Air Force in Alingar district in Laghman province on Tuesday.

The Afghan Air Force targeted a group of armed opponents in Sheikhan village in Sangar Dara area in the limits of Alingar district, leaving seven gunmen dead, Laghman governor’s spokesman Sarhadi Zwak said. Four of the dead were identified as Zurmat, Janan, Pehlawan and Hijrat, he said. The identity of the other three fallen gunmen could not be ascertained immediately, he added.

The Taliban have not said anything in this regard so far.

The Afghan forces have been conducting operation against the armed opponents in Alingar district over the past 15 days. According to officials, dozens of armed opponents were killed and injured in the offensive so far.
