Sharjeel Memon along with 11 others sent to jail in corruption case

KARACHI: Former Provincial Information Minister and leader of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Sharjeel Memon along with 11 other alleged in Rs 5.7 billion corruption case were sent to jail till November 4.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) presented Sharjeel and 11 others in the court earlier today and the court ordered to sent them to jail on judicial remand till November 4.

The next hearing of the case is on November 4.

Sharjeel Memon was shifted to jail in strict society from the NAB headquarters to the court with the aim to ensure the safety of alleged criminals and also maintain the law and order situation in the city.

On Monday court ordered to NAB to arrest the former minister and 11 others after rejecting their request of extension of bail pleas. Sharjeel Memom supporters showed some resistance outside the court while shifting him from the court.

Eleven other accused in the case were also arrested by the bureau.
