Shekib advocates for returnees’ capital transfer

KABUL (Agencies): Mawlavi Sardar Ahmad Shekib, the Charge d’Affaires of the Afghan Embassy in Islamabad, has addressed the issue of transferring the capital and assets of returnees with Pakistani authorities.
According to a statement from the Embassy of the Islamic Emirates of Afghanistan, Mr. Shekib visited the Torkham port to assess the situation of Afghan returnees. During his visit, he interacted with Afghans waiting on the Pakistan side of the crossing to return to their country and listened to their concerns.
Shekib emphasized the need to streamline the return process for migrants and advocated for the exemption of vehicles used for the transportation of refugees from any charges.
He stressed that issues related to the transfer of assets, money, and belongings of Afghan migrants will be seriously discussed with the Pakistani authorities.
This development follows the interim government of Pakistan’s decision a month ago to deport migrants residing in the country without legal documentation.
Since the deadline ended on November 1, thousands of Afghans have been expelled from Pakistan, and the deportation process continues.
