Sherpao against state, institutions confrontation

Peshawar: Chairman Qaumi Watan Party Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao said that confrontation between the state and the institutions would be detrimental to the country future and especially to the rights of pakhtoons.

He said this while addressing a party core committee meeting held at watan kor Peshawar here on Saturday.

The meeting regretted the non issues had been focused and the vital issues concern pakhtoons had totally been ignored which would further increased the uncertainty among pakhtoons. The meeting deplored that the murder of Naqeeb Ullah and Ahmad Shah were of significant nature and unless the justice has been done in these cases which would be instrumental to perpetuate the agonies of Pakhtoons. The meeting also lamented the confrontation between the government and opposition had been made elaborate attempts to horse on non issues and government involved in confrontation which would ultimately put the issues of Pakistan, such as the merger of Fata with KP and Afghanistan and Pakistan ties and KP major issues had been put on the backburner. The meeting said that the political conflicts have been created and resultantly clouds of uncertainty were looming at large on the national horizon. The meeting said that after few months the elections would be held and the political parties should work for mass mobilization to attract maximum participation of people in the elections of 2018.

The meeting mentioned that the elections would provide an effective platform to political parties to put their programs before the people and seek mandate of the elections.

The meeting said that the ultimate verdict would be given by the people about the manifestos of the political parties. The meeting also regretted that such attitude of confrontations policies harmful for the democratic process. The meeting said that the political leadership should focus on the upcoming election so as to ensure free and fair polls within time.

The meeting said that with the verdict of court should have not the potential to increase political instability further and asked the politicians to play its role in averting instability.

The expressed hope that the lawmakers should gather to overcome the challenges. The meeting said that QWP is the staunchest support of the rule of law and power of the parliament and would play its due role for the stability of democratic process and power of parliament and resist any attempt that would delay the timely polls.

The meeting believed that the confrontation was no solution to the problems and the institutional dialogues was needed to resolve the issues confronting the country.

The party core meeting was attended by Provincial chairman Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao, Central general secretary Anisa Zeb Tahir Kheli, Provincial General secretary Hashim Babar, Haji Ghufran, Jameel Marghuz, Asad Afridi advocate, provincial Information secretary Tariq Khan, Nisar Khan advocate, Kifait Khan advocate, Fazal Rehman Nono and Adnan Wazir.
