KABUL: The Afghan national defense and security forces have killed at least six militants affiliated with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group in Jawzjan province. According to the local officials, the militants were killed during a clash that took place on Friday in Darzab district.
Provincial governor’s spokesman Mohammad Reza Ghafori confirmed the report and said six members of the ISIS terrorist group were killed during the clash. He said at least two foreign nationals hailing from Uzbekistan were also among those killed but the Afghan security forces did not suffer any casualty. The anti-government armed militant and terrorist groups including ISIS insurgents have not commented regarding the report so far. Jawzjan is among the relatively volatile provinces in the North where the anti-government armed militant groups are actively operating in some of its districts.
